It was established in Jamshedpur which people also call Tata Nagar. Actual production of steel and iron started in 1912. It manufactures steel at the most affordable rates in the world. The main reason for this is that another company of the same group provides it with raw materials, such as coal and iron etc. Tata Hydro-Electric Power Supply Company was established in 1910. With the establishment of Tata Oil Mills in 1917, the group entered the field of household goods and started manufacturing soaps, laundry soaps, detergents, cooking oils etc. Tata Airlines was started in 1932.
